This is a video my buddy Al and I filmed at work. We set up a trap for the DJ. I seriously laugh every time I watch it.

There must be something wrong with my eyes...all I can see is Blue!

All I have to say about last nights U.S. Midterm Elections is...wow. I really can't express my happiness with the beating the Dems delivered last night to the red-faced Republicans. I was expecting them to win control of the House but the Senate win was a shock. (Note: Virgina's Senate seat is still up in the air although the Dem. Jim Webb is up by 3,000 votes so, I am going to pull a CNN and project the seat for the Democrats) Not only do the Democrats take control of both houses of Congress but now, Donald Rumsfeld has announced his resignation from the post of Secretary of Defence. Boo-yeah.

Remember kids, if your ever stuck in a war that you can't win and your losing more and more troops every month...never use the phrase "Stay the Course." It doesn't seem to work.

Well everybody, it's Halloween! I haven't posted a journal entry in ages and there are no upcoming promises to update more often as I know it won't happen. Not alot has really changed since my last post. The only real news I have is that I cut my hair. The girs at work want me to go out with them tomorrow night but I'm pretty broke this week and costumeless so I would feel kind of out of it. I had a weird night at work today. I saw some people I haven't seen in quite a while. It seems to happen alot at Studio. A couple of weeks ago, I saw a guy that I was best friends with in grade 3. Pretty crazy. I think I'm going to attribute the current update to being buzzed. We had a bit of a Halloween party at work tonight:P

My birthday was on October 6th and I had a great night out with Sherri, Tanya and Mike. The night didn't end so well considering the last thing I remember is some county kids yelling "Challenge! Challenge!," as I finshed off their beer. I had a very rough morning to say the least;)

I'm pretty upset that the Tigers lost to the Cards over the weekend. I was really hoping they would take the series. I guess it just proves that no mater how good their record was or how far they made it in the playoffs, they are still the Detroit Tigers;) In other sports news, the Lancers lost their first home playoff game in over 30 years to Western. This means that we are now finished for the season. It kinda sucks that they have no shot at the Yates but it's good to know that we had such a good record this season and that there is always next year.

Does anybody else think that winter is coming far too early this year? (although today was beautiful outside)

Either way, I'm going to go lay down with Luna.

Take it easy peeps,

Josh

Hurricane Katrina: Death, Destruction and a Grim Reminder

Hey everybody. Looking back at one of the greatest natural disasters of all time has really hit me hard on this first anniversary of Katrina. In terms of other events I have witnessed in, say, the last 10 years, Katrina itself may not seem so incredible. The attacks of September 11th were visually shocking. We saw things that day that seemed so unreal. When it comes to natural disasters, the tsunami on December 26th, 2004 was responsible for an unheard of loss of life. Currently, the official toll is 229,866 people lost that day. That is more people than we have in our entire city. It truely is unbelievable. Even when compairing hurricanes, Katrina was not the strongest we've seen. There was a stronger hurricane just three weeks later, Hurricane Rita, which ended up causing much less damage along the coast of Texas.

But, Katrina truely was a perfect storm. A combination of strength, location of landfall and an inept government with no apperant plan were all contributing factors to why Katrina wreaked the havoc that it did. Not only was the physical destruction unimaginable but the social problems it exposed will haunt me for a long time to come. When the levees broke, and the water rushed in, over 80% of the city was covered. Seeing videos of people being resuced on rooftops was inspiring and seeing numerous people floating face down in the water was shocking but none of it prepared people for what they were about to see in the coming days.

As the city was blanketed by the storm, people realized they were trapped. Late evacuation orders ensured that many people would be left behind. The two main places designated as shelters were the New Orleans Superdome, home of the Saints (go figure) and the New Orleans Convention Centre. The Superdome was the place to be to ride out the storm. Those not lucky enough to evacuate on time were left to their own devices in a stadium without food and water. Conditions were squalid. People were hungry, thirsty, worried and scared. Some were separated from their families while others weren't sure if their uninsured homes would be spared by Katrina. If they lost everything what would they do? How could they possibly start over? And, as bad as things were at the Superdome, they were only a precursor of things to come.

As people began to file out of the Superdome, Katrina's power was immediately evident. If they had looked up, if only for a moment, they would notice that almost the entire top layer of the Superdome roof had been torn off. Little did everyone know, the worse was still to come. This, because the levees did not break until the day following the storm and it had appeared as if New Orleans had dodged a major bullet. As people came out of the shelter and saw that the streets were still dry they believed that everything was going to be alright. Soon after, the first cracks in the levee system threatened to take it all away again.

As the levees faltered, the city was quickly swallowed by Lake Pontchartrain. New Orleans would never be the same again. Although building a city below sea level when it is surrounded by water may not seem like a good idea, the levees were suppossed to be there to protect it. They were built to withstand a Category 3 storm and that is exactly what Katrina was. Reasons why the levees were overcome is still under investigation but the damage it caused and the social cracks it revealed are still incontestable today.

Seeing the images of people stranded at the convention centre truely changed me forever. People were stuck there for days on end. Surrounded by human waste, uuncontainable human emotion and countless dead bodies, the people of New Orleans became disillusioned. Was this really the United States? Were American citizens really being left in these conditions in their own country? It was truely unbelievable to see the pictures and still believe you were looking at a civilized country. Why didn't the countless helicopters in the sky drop off water or food? Why did it take the buses so long to get there and get the people out? Why wasn't anybody ready for this monster that had been forming in the nearby waters for many days before? These and many other questions are just beginning to be answered and the city itself is still not even close to being rebuilt now one year later. But, the one thing that will be nearly impossible to bring back is the trust of those people trapped by the flood waters. They were abandoned. There is no other word for it. They were abandoned by their city, by their state and by their country. There were countless fundraisers on TV during the weeks after the storm but it seemed as if nobody besides Kanye wanted to touch the question of class and race. If you look at the pictures of the aftermath, you will see that those left behind were mostly black. I would say the numbers are above 90%. That seems insane to me. I understand that New Orleans may have a black majority of people but this was not a coincidence. They were the poorest of the poor, all but forgotten. Surrounded by dead family, friends and neighbours, they were deserted. It brought a tear to my eye seeing these people beg for just a little bit of help. They had already lost all of their belongings and now, they were losing faith in a country that was suppossedly there to protect all of it's citizens.

In the end, the waters receded and the city began to rebuild. But, how will they ever regain that innocence? Can people truely rebuild and pretend that everything is alright? I surely hope not. Continuing life as if those problems didn't exist won't make them go away. It will only make them worse. I think it's time that not only the U.S. but the world sits down and fixes these problems of race and class. Because these aren't problems that were created by Katrina. These are problems that it only highlighted. Problems that have been there for years. Problems that are in dire need of a solution. And, if we walk away from this human disaster only talking about the need for better storm preparation then we truely haven't learned anything. And that would be the greatest tragedy of all.

I guess that's a little bit too long to go without one of my fabulous posts. Either way, the reason I haven't been updating has alot to do with the fact that nothing has really been going on. At this point in time, I lead a very boring life. I just hang out with friends and work. Although, right now, that is perfectly fine with me, I didn't think it was really worthy of a post. I did make some pretty good plans for around my birthday. beatbandit and breau are coming down on the 7th!!!!! I'm really excited to see them. It feels like it's been forever since we hung out last. Also, Lancers football starts on September 9th so I'm pretty psyched about that. Also, I might be going to the Western Fair in London if I can work the plans out right but it's going to be tough.

Does anybody else that reads this watch Big Brother? If you do, please let me know. I feel like I'm one of the few people I know that actually watch it. Yes...I really AM that lame.

I feel like after that admission, everybody stopped reading so I'm going to end this painlessly. I really hope my life gets more exciting so you can all have the privilege of reading about it.

A guy can dream can't he?

;)

Boo Italia!

Well that wasn't the ending I wanted to see at the World Cup Final today. Not that I am a huge supporter of Les Bleus but I definitely did not want to see Italia pull off a victory. The whole tournament I was pulling for Germany but Italy ended that for me as well. Either way, that headbutt near the end of extra time by Zidane will for sure go down in history as one of the dumbest moves by a captain, or any other player for that matter, in a World Cup final. Especially since this was his last interntaional match of his career since he announced his retirement will take effect after this World Cup.

Nonetheless, it was a VERY exciting game and very evenly matched. For what it's worth, congratulations Italia. See you all in four years.

Good times were had by all...

A couple weeks ago, my friends Tanya (breau) and Sherri (beatbandit) came back down to Windsor for Convocation. Both of them graduated from Teacher's College this past June and they are now both fully certified teachers!!!!! That Saturday, we all decided to party it up starting at Tanya's old house and ending up at Loop. Here is the story of that night, pictures included.

This is Tanya on the left and Sherri on the right. They are so happy to be graduating but are even happier now that they are back in Windsor. Tanya and Sherri love Windsor. Especially Tanya.

This is my buddy Mike. Mike was under the influence way before we even got to the house. That's how Mike rolls.

This is me and my giant head. I don't know why I made this face but I'm sure it had something to do with beer.

Sherri and I chilling at Tanya's old stomping grounds.

I think Mike looks inebriated in every single picture he is featured in.

After chilling inside for a bit, the girls thought it would be a good idea to come outside and do my hair. I didn't really want to but, you know...

After seeing the end result, Mike got extremely jealous and demanded the same treatment. Now Mike feels pretty. Your a star Mike.

After feeling so pretty, Mike had to reassert his manlyness. What better way to do so than to double fist a couple bottles of Keiths?

Token Asian pic just for kicks. I'm just kidding. This is Tanya's old roommate Bin eating KFC.

After all that fun at the house, we ventured off to Loop. Immdiately after walking in, the pretty lights caused Mike to have a seizure. This picture was captured 3 seconds before.

I'm not exactly sure who is doing what to Tanya in this pic but I love it. I love it dearly.

Maybe the picture before was an end result of this move Sherri is making on Tanya. That's right folks! Hot lesbian action!!!

Mike couldn't believe what he was seeing. Girls kissing?!?!? He also didn't understand what that tingling feeling was between his legs but he liked it.

This is me toasting the aforementioned event. Yay for the ladies.

This looks like it was completely fueled by alcohol when really it is because the taste of my skin is just so damn irresistable.

Mike is either eyeing a Hungarian supermodel or a pitcher of beer. I wonder which one it could be?

After filling his gass and taking a sip, Mike takes a moment to praise the Gods of Beer.

This is my Diva pose. God I am such a camera whore.

Mike and I posing for the ladies. Not really.

Cheers to one hell of a night.

A very sad sight. The end of the night is upon us.

Well folks, that is it. I really had an awesome time that night and I can't wait for the opportunity for us to all get together again. Expect an update about my current life soon.

Later,

Josh

Does a bear steal cars in the woods? Let's find out!

Hey everybody. Not a whole lot has been going on in my life as of recent. Last night I went to the fireworks with Brianne and Mike and a little too much alcohol was consumed. This morning was a little rough but I guess it's a small price to pay to have a good time with close friends. Fireworks was really nothing spectacular. I remember being a little kid at the Riverfront hiding under blankets because I was so scared they were going to fall on me and light me on fire. Now, there's a couple of ooo's and ahh's but nothing mind-blowing like when I was a kid.

So, the fact that I was with Mike last night means he survived his trip to Calgary! He went there to help his Mom out because his Grandmother hasn't been doing so well. He didn't want to go to Calgary because he has a bad history with his Grandma but still he went, mainly to help out his Mom which I respect him alot for. Since we were both mainly raised by our Moms, I think we respect them that much more. Cheers to Moms.

Today Marla came over to spend the night because she is presently homeless. It was great seeing her again but I feel so bad for her situation right now. She has just had a really rough last couple of months and it hurts like hell to see a friend go through it. But, I know she's going to be OK so I guess that's what matters.

Evan and I went to the Casino on Tuesday night and the Chief showed up in record numbers. I got 4 in a row which is 1000 credits. Because we were playing nickel slots in wasn't that much money but I still walked out up $30.

In other news, my phone won't presently text message. I'm not sure if I can receive but right now, I definitely can't send any.

I need to go to bed but I'm not tired. Yay for strippers tomorrow. And by yay, I mean boo.

Suck Me Down It's Time To Rock and Roll

Just thought I would break the crazy dry spell and see if I still remember how to update. I'm not exactly sure how to piece everything together about what's going on in my life so I guess I will stick to the basics.

First off...good news and bad news. Good news is I got a job!!! Bad news is it's at Studio 4. Yes folks, you heard me right, I work in a strip club. And no, I don't dance;) The job just kind of fell in to my lap if you know what I mean;) Just kidding. My buddy moved to Woodstock and needed someone to take his job as a Barback so I decided I would try it out. It's 32 hours a week plus tips so I make decent money. Problem is, I feel awkward when 75% of my co-workers don't wear clothes. It's crazy weird when your just sitting around and a completely naked woman comes over, sits beside you and starts talking about the weather. I just don't know what to say or where to look when she asks if it's warm outside. But, I do believe that every naked woman weather convo should begin with "Well, judging by your nipples..." The good thing is that I work mainly at the bar and don't have alot of these nekkid woman encounters. I deal mostly with managers, bartenders and waitresses who all remain fully clothed. They are also really awesome people.

- If anybody didn't know, things with Melissa are completely, 100% broken off and I feel incredible. It's wonderful not having to worry about crazy gf things...especially when the gf is crazy. This happened a little after February.

- Wednesday nights at the pub keep my weeks from becoming too boring and I thank Mick O'Brien for that...and Evan since he introduced me to going.

- Now Kate AND Karla are both in Europe. I miss them both dearly and I can't wait for them to come home.

- Chocolate milk makes me happy.

- I hope Edmonton wins the cup although at this point (Carolina leading 3-1), it doesn't look likely.

- The Omen was definitely worth seeing.

- I can't think of anything else right now. I know there I have alot to say but I just can't seem to transfer it to the screen. Maybe I will organize my thoughts and write a coherent entry tomorrow.

Yay for two days off.

Josh

Music Survey

Hey guys. Hope everything is going well for everyone. I took a music survey that karmicunderpath had posted on Myspace. I then saw that she posted it on here as well. Since it will probably get more play on here, I'm copying;) More play is good...in any circumstances.

Music survey - Name 10 bands you are really in to:

1. PANIC! at the Disco
2. Death Cab For Cutie
3. Coheed and Cambria
4. Fall Out Boy
5. Green Day
6. Motion City Soundtrack
7. Dashboard Confessional
8. Oasis
9. Pink Floyd
10. The Killers

now answer the questions according to the numbers.

+ what was the first song you ever heard by 6?
- Everything Is Alright

+ what is your favourite album of 8?
- What's the Story (Morning Glory)

+ what is your favourite lyric that 5 has sung?
- "I read the graffiti,
In the bathroom stall,
Like the holy scriptures in a shopping mall,
And so it seemed to confess,
It didn't say much,
But it only confirmed that,
The center of the earth,
Is the end of the world
And I could really care less"

+ how many times have you seen 4 live?
- Once at 89X Stole Christmas

+ what is your favourite song of 7?
- Probably "Screaming Infidelities"

+ what is a good memory you have concerning the music of 10?
- I think they are the only band I have ever danced to at the Loop. It was Kate's going away party and they played "All These Things That I've Done. I danced like a man with one leg having a seizure. Horrible. But still an awesome memory.

+ what is your favourite lyric that 2 has sung?
- This one was easy:

"The glove compartment isn't accurately named
And everybody knows it.
So i'm proposing a swift orderly change.

Cause behind its door there's nothing to keep my fingers warm
And all i find are souvenirs from better times
Before the gleam of your taillights fading east
To find yourself a better life.

I was searching for some legal document
As the rain beat down on the hood
When i stumbled upon pictures i tried to forget
And that's how this idea was drilled into my head"

+ what is your favourite song by 9?
- This is going to be a tie between "Comfortably Numb" and "Wish You Were Here"

+ how did you get in to 3?
- My buddy Travis introduced me to them. I listened to them occasionally but when I heard them play "Welcome Home" live, I was completely hooked.

+ what was the first song you heard by 1?
- "I Constantly Thank God For Esteban"

+ What is your favourite song by 4?
- "Get Busy Living Or Get Busy Dying"

+ how many time have you seen 9 live?
- Hahahaha...how I wish. Zero.

+ what is a good memory you have concerning 2?
- No really great memories. I think they just make me feel better (yet cynical) about relationships. Especially failed ones;)

+ is there a song off 8 that makes you sad?
- "Wonderwall" makes me sad because it was one of the songs completely overplayed. I can still hardly stand listening to it.

+ what is your favourite album of 5?
- American Idiot was absolutely incredible. But, I stilll have to throw it back to Dookie.

+ what is your favourite lyric that 3 has sung?
- "You could've been all I wanted
But you weren't honest
Now get in the ground
You choked off the surest of favors
But if you really loved me
You would've endured my world

Well you're just as I presumed
A whore in sheep's clothing
Fucking up all I do
And if so here we stop
Then never again
Will you see this in your life"

+ what is your favourite song of 1?
- Too many. Probably a tie between "I Constantly Thank God For Esteban" and "Build God, Then We'll Talk"

+ what is your favourite song of 10?
- "Somebody Told Me"

+ how many times have you seen 6 live?
- One time.

+ what is your favourite album of 2?
- The only one I have listened to all the way through would be Transatlanticism

+ what is a great memory you have concerning 9?
- Remembering that my Uncle told me that when you listen to a Floyd album, the songs flow from one to the other, telling a story. I immediately went home and listend to Animals.

+ what is your favourite lyric that 6 has sung?
- "I'm sick of the things I do when I'm nervous
Like cleaning the oven or checking my tires
Or counting the number of tiles in the ceiling
Head for the hills, the kitchen's on fire!"

+ What was the first song you heard by 8?
- "Champagne Supernova" while I was on my way to Wyoming with my scout troup.

+ What is your favourite song lyric from 1?
- "Give us this day our daily dose of faux affliction,
Forgive our sins Forged at the pulpit with forked tongues selling faux sermons Because I am a new wave gospel sharp, and you'll be thy witness
So gentlemen, if you are going to preach Then for God sakes preach with conviction!"

This was a really fun survey to take. I loved the questions that asked what kind of memories you have of certain bands. It really made me think back and remember what the music meant to me. I ended up thinking about the memories associated with every band I had listed there. Too much fun. Great memories.

Anyways, not a whole lot has been going on lately. I'm really proud of the athletes in Torino. They did our country proud and put us in a great position for Vancouver 2010. So, I guess I will leave you with this survey to ponder and perhaps take yourself. Believe me, it's fun.

Josh

(formerly known as Joshie)
(formerly known as Joshua)
(formerly known as the reason my parents got married)

P.S. That last part isn't true. I hope. ;)

Hey people. Not much to talk about on here. Just felt kinda emo and wanted to post. Now, before any of you decide to stop being my friend, I was joking. The mood line doesn't say "Apathetic" does it? Either way, things have been going rather well lately. I'm glad V-day is past. Only a few more major hurdles to go and I won't feel so bad about not having a gf right now;) I know everything is for the best. It's just that sometimes, you get lost and forget that your better off not being with someone who doesn't want to be with you. Those are the tough times.

Canada is up to 4 medals. 1 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze. The men's hockey team also beat Italy today 7-2. I'm really hoping we do well in Torino so we can do extra well in Vancouver-Whistler in 2010.

Writing this journal entry makes me realize how boring my life really is. I need a hobby or something. I wish I had a paid account so I could have a poll asking what my hobby should be. That would be good times.

Either way, Heather is here now. I must be off.

Josh

"A Great Western Solitary Car Momentous Tragedy"

Owen, Mike and myself got into a little bit of an accident earlier tonight in the county. I scraped my hand up a bit but nothing major happened whatsoever except for a dent in the side the car "landed" on. Owen just slid on some ice and he couldn't gain control of the car afterwards. We landed in a ditch and the car felt like it was almost on it's side which it was (pressed against the snow). It was really the snow that saved the car because if it wasn't there then the car definitely would have been on the roof. We ended up calling 911 and the Essex police came. It was hell getting them there because we didn't really know what road we were on or where we were;) I was afraid we were going to have to sleep in the county. I'm afraid of the ways we would have had to keep ourselves warm. "My mind's telling me no...but my body's telling me yes..." Anyways, The cop let us sit in his car until the tow truck came and then the cop had to survey the damage for insurance purposes. Even he was surprised that the car was pretty much unscathed.

This is a picture of Owen in the car while it was in the ditch.

Another one of Owen in the car.

And this is the car from the back.

The pictures don't look bad at all and, really, it wasn't bad. I think it was just a really shocking moment. It felt like the car was sliding forever and it was such a jolt landing in the ditch. I just froze. Either way, I'm feeling a lot better now than I was then. Either way, it has absolutely no impact on Owen's driving ability. This could have happened to anybody. Owen actually handled it with more poise than all of us.

Either way, I will update on the rest of my life soon.

Later,

Josh

"This was incomprehensible. How could it be? How could you lose someone...someone so close?"

I just started reading Battle Royale by Koushan Takami. I had seen the movie before and decided it would be a good idea to check out the book, especially since T.J. has a copy. All I can say right now is that I am only through the first 5 pieces of Part I and the book is 10 times more violent than the movie. The writing is superb though and you I get the feeling that I will form connections with characters in the book far easier than in the movie. The only difficulty I have been having is keeping all the names in order. The Japanese names have alot of similarities and it's easy to get some of the names mixed up. But, as I've been going through, it has become a little easier. I also wish I had read the book before I saw the movie.

I haven't really been doing much other than hanging out at home lately. I had some weird 24 hour illness during the weekend. I couldn't keep any food down whatsoever. I don't remember ever being that sick. Anyways, Karla's birthday party is this weekend so that should be good times. I'll let everyone know how it goes;)

Later,

Josh

The anxiety is killing me...

Well it is election night and my ballot has been cast. The result in Windsor is pretty much a done deal but the way the rest of the country votes is the part that worries me. I may wake up tomorrow with a new leader of our country. A leader that I can't bring myself to trust. A leader who's views on the issues of importance to myself and my country are extreme and contrary to my beliefs. So many things are at stake in our country and all people can see is that Harper is not Martin and that Harper will cut the GST. People are being so shortsighted. They see a chance to lower the dreaded sales tax and yet they forget the things that Stephen Harper really stands for. The things his party committed to during their last party convention.

I know Paul Martin may not be the greatest choice but he is the only one who represents our country and it's values. He defends Canadian values that are revered around the world. If the NDP could form a nattional government that would be great. But, I just don't see that happening anytime soon. So, it appears to be a choice between Harper and Martin.

All I hope for for now is that IF Harper and the Conservatives win, it will be a minority government so they can be held at bay. I hope the country knows what it is getting itself into. We are set to lose alot more than a few percentage points off of the GST. Alot more.

"Here I go again on my own"

Well, let's hope the 2nd time's a charm. Yesterday's attempt at pulling an all-nighter failed horribly as I crashed and burned into a fiery pile in my bed. I really need to follow through with this. If I don't get my sleep schedule back on track then I might as well just start sucking the blood of the innocent and sleeping in crypts. I honestly have felt like a vampire for the past week or two. I sleep until it's pretty much dark and then I am up until the sun starts appearing. It effects my mood greatly when I don't see the sun for a couple days. Anyways, Amanda was over for quite a while today and lots of fun was had. It's so great hanging out with her on a regular basis once again. Well I should get back to tagging my music and adding album covers. My iPod must stay neat and organized. This should keep me busy;)

Comment away!

Josh

I was just caller 8...you have to be caller X which is caller 10. Some girl from Chesterfield got through and she picked envelope number 7, which I was going to pick. And she won the iPod!!!!! Boo to her. I guess I have to settle for Pistons tickets or something...if I can ever get out to Auburn Hills. This is also entirely dependant on the fact that I actually get through to be caller X;)

Starting...to...get...sleepy...

"Let go it's harder holding on, one more trip and I'll be gone."

Well here goes nothing. I decided I am going to pull an allnighter for the sake of getting my sleep schedule back on track. It should fix the problem for at least a little while. Right now I'm trying to win an Apple iPod Video on 89x among other things. I already have a colour ipod but I wouldn't mind getting rid of my older one and winning a video one. You can also win Pistons tix and concert tix so hopefully I'm one of the luck thirteen;)

Stephen Harper and the Conservative party are pretty far ahead in the polls. I really don't think I'm ready for a conservative government here in Canada. They've been talking about cutting the GST from 7% to 6% and then from 6% to 5%. For an average Canadian, that isn't a whole lot of money. I prefer the Liberal plan for cutting income tax. I would rather get a bunch of money back each February than save 7 cents on a chocolate bar. I definitely don't agree with their social policies either. I don't like their plans for education or health care and I think they are way off on the national child care debate. Regardless, the big day is on January 23rd and hopefully the Liberals can make up some solid ground from now until then and stop Harper from becoming Prime Minister.

Well I'm going to get going for a bit but I'm sure I'll be back on soon to update you on how my day is going.

Josh

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and the holy crap this was an amazing movie...

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe was absolutely mind blowing. I went to go see it tonight with my buddy Fu and I couldn't have been more pleased with the movie.

The movie was beautifully shot and captured your attention from the very beginning with the bombing raid in England. Immediately you know the setting and the fact that this takes place some time during WWII. From this point, the movie has you and it doesn't let go, not even for a second. The CG animation was beyond description. I swear Aslan looked more real than any lion I have ever seen on Animal Planet;) The fight sequences were brilliantly mastered and flowed so spectacularly that I'm not sure if I even blinked once until they were through. I think the children did a great acting job although I found it a bit humourous whenever Lucy had to cry and it looked like she was actually about to crack up laughing. The other thing that bothered me at first was Peter's total inability to handle a sword and/or look manly threatening things with a sword. But, after much deliberation I decided that because these kids were just thrown into the world of Narnia that his crap swordplay might be excusable.

I was also creeped out by Mr. Tumnus' legs. Yeah...those were kinda sketchy.

Now, I am one of those viewers who has never laid eyes on any novel written by Mr. C.S. Lewis so I don't truly know if this movie holds firm to the book or not. But, what I do know is that it was a spectacular film that I would recommend everybody to go see. If you have seen this film, feel free to comment and let me know what you thought.

Josh
